Report scores on your phone
The fast keypad, mutual confirmation, and offline queue.
Report scores on your phone
Reporting a score is designed to take less than ten seconds. Open the Scores tab in your Captain's Portal, tap the game you just played, and you'll land on the score keypad.
The keypad
Two large number pads — home and away — with big plus and minus buttons. Tap your team's score up to what you scored, tap the opponent's score up to what they scored, and hit Submit. Your phone vibrates to confirm.
The keypad is optimized for fat fingers on a sunny beach — the buttons are 60px tall with high-contrast colors.
Mutual confirmation
After you submit, the other team's captain sees your reported score on their own keypad. They either Confirm (which final-izes the game) or Dispute (which opens a text box where they enter their own score). If both scores agree, the game auto-finalizes. If they disagree, both scores are held and an admin sees a flag in their game-day dashboard.
Admins can override any reported score — if you and the opponent can't agree, flag down a nearby staffer.
Offline queue
The portal caches your upcoming games on the device when the page loads. If the beach Wi-Fi dies (and it will), score submissions queue locally on your phone. A yellow "X pending" badge appears in the header. When connectivity comes back, the queue drains automatically — usually within a second.
Always check the badge before you leave the field. If it's still showing "pending" when you get back to your car, open the Captain's Portal and walk toward a stronger signal for 30 seconds to drain the queue.
Forfeits
If your opponent no-shows, wait 10 minutes past the start time, then open the game on the keypad and tap Forfeit (opponent). An admin confirms the forfeit — it's not automatic — but this flags the game for them immediately.
Score lock
The organizer may set a score lock window (for example, 30 minutes after the scheduled end time). Past that window, the keypad goes read-only and only an admin can change the score. This prevents stale games from stalling the standings.
SOTG
If the game was Ultimate and SOTG is enabled, after submitting the score you'll be walked through the three-category SOTG form. See SOTG scoring explained.
