Join a team with an access code
The captain gave you a code — here's where to put it.
Join a team with an access code
Your team captain should have given you a six-character access code (numbers and letters, no 0/O/1/I). If they sent you an invite email, you can click the button in the email and the code auto-fills. Otherwise:
Where the code goes
- Open the event site and click Register.
- Pick the same sport and division your captain chose. Make sure these match — if you pick the wrong division, the code won't work.
- On the Team setup step, pick Join existing team and paste the access code.
- The page will show the team name and current roster size. Confirm you're joining the right team and continue.
- Finish the rest of the flow: contact info, custom questions, waiver, payment.
Invalid code?
- Wrong division? Codes are scoped to a division. Make sure you picked the same one as your captain.
- Roster full? If the captain's roster is at its limit, the code stops accepting new players. Ask them to check their portal — they may need the organizer to raise the roster limit.
- Typo? The code alphabet is 2-9 and A-Z (minus letters that look like numbers). Watch for "0" vs "O" and "1" vs "I" — these aren't used, but people still mis-type similar-looking characters.
Free spots
Some teams reserve "free spots" for teammates they're recruiting. If your captain gave you a free spot, your seat is paid for out of the team's reserve and you'll see a $0 line item at checkout. You still have to fill in contact info and sign the waiver.
Can I switch teams later?
No self-serve switcher. Ask the organizer — they can move you in the admin panel, but it's a manual change because it affects rosters, pricing tiers, and brackets.
