Invite your team

Invite your team
Every team has a six-character access code that was generated when you created the team. That code is the only thing someone needs to join your team during signup — no captain approval required.
Two ways to invite
1. Share the code directly
Just copy the code (the Captain's Portal has a copy button) and paste it into your group text. Your teammates go to /register, pick the same sport and division, and on the team step they select Join existing team and enter the code.
This is the fastest path. If your team already chats on Discord or a group text, this is what you'll use.
2. Email invites from the portal
Use the Invite teammates section in the Captain's Portal. Paste a list of email addresses (comma-separated, newline-separated, or mixed — the parser is lenient). The system sends each person a formatted email with:
- Your team name
- The event details
- The access code
- A one-click link that pre-fills the team code on the registration form
Sent invitations show in a table with their status: pending, accepted, or expired. You can resend an invitation or cancel it from this table.
Roster limits
Every sport has a roster limit (set by the organizer). The portal shows "4 of 12 filled" so you always know how many more you can add. Once you hit the limit, the access code stops accepting new players — if you need more, ask the organizer to raise the limit for your team.
If an email bounces
The invite table will show "failed" for any email that Resend couldn't deliver. Correct the address and click Resend. Most bounces are typos.
If someone joined the wrong team
Tell them to email the organizer. Moving a player between teams requires an admin to update their registration because it affects per-team rosters and brackets. It's not something you can do from the portal.
