Use team chat
A private thread for just your roster — no WhatsApp group needed.
Use team chat
Team chat is a private thread scoped to your team's roster. Only paid players on the team can see and post in it. It's the quickest way to coordinate without having to maintain a separate group text.
Where to find it
Open the Captain's Portal. The Chat tab is in the top nav next to Roster and Schedule.
What you can do
- Post a message — just plain text for now, no photos or files
- See who's online — a green dot next to each player's avatar
- Get notified — if you have push notifications enabled (see Enable notifications), new messages show up on your lock screen
What you can't (yet)
- No file or image attachments
- No reactions or threads
- No message editing or deletion after 5 minutes
- No DMs — it's team-wide only
These are on the short-term roadmap. Team chat shipped minimal on purpose: we'd rather be dead reliable than broadly featured.
Etiquette
This is a semi-public channel — every paid player on your roster can read it, including the shy ones. Keep it on-topic: logistics, carpools, pregame, field updates. Save the memes for your group text.
Privacy and retention
Messages are stored in the event database and retained until 90 days after the event ends. Admins can read team chat if they're investigating a dispute or safety issue, but this is audited and not casual access. Don't post anything you wouldn't say in front of an organizer.
Notifications
On your Captain's Portal profile, toggle Chat notifications on or off. Browser push notifications need to be enabled at the OS level (iOS users: add the event site to your home screen first — see Enable notifications).
