Admin dashboard tour
Command palette, game-day mode, event scope picker, and the daily view.
Admin dashboard tour
The admin dashboard is the staff-facing side of the platform. It's different from the organizer's public view: it's denser, it assumes you're on a laptop, and it has a handful of power-user features that save real time once you know about them.
Command palette (Cmd-K)
Anywhere in the admin, hit Cmd-K (Mac) or Ctrl-K (Windows). A palette pops up with fuzzy-matching over:
- Every admin page ("registrants", "schedule", "finance", etc.)
- Recent actions
- Event scopes (switch between events in one org)
- A keyword search of the registrant database (type a player's name or email)
Arrow keys to select, Enter to go. Escape to close.
Event scope picker
At the top of every admin page there's an event selector. Good Times supports multi-event orgs, so the scope picker is how you say "show me registrants for Jersey 2027" vs "show me registrants for Florida 2027". The scope is saved in a cookie — the next time you open the admin, you pick up where you left off.
Game-day mode
There's a toggle in the top-right corner that flips the dashboard into game-day mode. This swaps the layout for a denser ops view: live check-in progress, next-up games across all fields, score disputes, late rosters, and auto-refreshing standings. See Run game day.
The sidebar
The left sidebar has every admin section. It's grouped loosely: event setup at the top, day-of-event in the middle, post-event / financial at the bottom. There's no sub-nav — clicking an item takes you straight to that feature.
The dashboard home
The dashboard home shows:
- Counts: total registrations, revenue, checked-in count, upcoming installments
- Recent activity feed: last 50 events (signups, refunds, score submissions, etc.)
- Link cards to the next logical action
Keyboard shortcuts
- Cmd-K / Ctrl-K — command palette
- Cmd-/ — jump to this help center
- ? on a field with a help tooltip — open the popover
(The ? shortcut is per-field, not global.)
